This summer, the Canada Revenue Agency is pushing to get more lower-income people who have not filed their taxes to get them done with their SimpleFile program.

What is SimpleFile?

SimpleFile is an invitation-only phone or online service, which supports people to quickly and easily file their taxes from home, at a time that suits them.

This automatic tax filing national pilot targets individuals who have never filed a tax return or who have a gap in their filing history.

SimpleFile services are available for a limited time to assist individuals in automatically filing their 2023 tax return. The phone and digital services are available 21 hours a day, from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m., Eastern time, 7 days a week.

Filing your taxes is necessary to access benefit and credit payments including the Canada Pension Plan and the Canada Child Benefit. If you have not yet filed your taxes, and not been invited to SimpleFile, get in touch and I can help you.
